Our story

The association "Action Belgique Pour un Sourire d'Enfant" is a non-profit organization under Belgian law (a.s.b.l.) created in 2007 by Belgian citizens. While traveling in Cambodia, deeply moved by the living conditions of children working as waste pickers, they were impressed by the actions of the Cambodian association "Pour un Sourire d'Enfant", founded in 1993 by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, for which the "abPSE" association wishes to act as a bridge. Its objective is to help underprivileged and out-of-school children, particularly those working on the Phnom Penh garbage dump. It is progressively extending its activities to child waste pickers within the city itself, as well as to other cities in Cambodia (Siem Reap, Sihanoukville). The goal is to give all these children a future.
