Celebrations Concert

"Soïttokello" was founded in 2010 and currently has about 35 singers, all of whom are interested in singing beautiful, recently composed music. Composers such as Ola Gjeilo, Arvo Pärt, Zoltan Kodaly, Morten Lauridsen... have enthused the singers.

Because of the pandemic, the large group meetings were difficult, so a dozen friends joined together to sing repertoire for women's voices. The vocal ensemble "Confidenti'Elles" was formed in the summer of 2020 and also chooses to showcase current composers.

This time, the programme, in which the two groups join forces under the direction of Claire de Blommaert, is called "Celebrations". It includes pieces of sacred music (songs for the Virgin, praises to the Lord...) and songs that celebrate the beauty that surrounds us (nature, sharing, self-giving...). Some of them will be accompanied on the piano by Joëlle Hoet.
